I agree with you (too), everyone knows how horrible is war, without the TV/press atrocity exhibition of war scenes and killings. And if these things are shown all the time you can get used to it and concider is something normal. But I think that maybe it can work as a reminder; to remember what the war effects are and not support it (and those who make it) specially in the case that someones nation fight this war. Is in everybody's hand not to get manipulated and to choose reliable and quality information sources that present facts/information as close as possible to the truth and don't cause/create fanatism and hatred. Of course there is no need to display the name of the soldiers who kill or die and present them as heroes. War has victims not heroes. Heroes indeed belong to the history books.
P.S. What I liked the most about her topic was the fact that she read greek history/epic poem and published her oppinion in her blog.
